The majority of our softwood species come from old industrial
buildings that have outlived their usefulness and are
staring square at a wrecking ball. Rather than see these
sometimes lovely old structures be simply razed by machines,
we pay for them to be dismantled and then use the timbers
to create our heart pine and mixed softwoods floors.
Some of the places we've rescued wood
from have interesting backgrounds, such as the last
brewery in Philadelphia, the largest textile mill in
North Carolina and the pieces of the old harbor in Baltimore.
We're always happy to find clients with an interest
in the origins of their floors and will gladly provide
you with a synopsis of its origins.
